We fans have seen Yuno grow from a quiet orphan to one of the strongest Magic Knights. His calm confidence, his royal blood, and his star magic and we can just go on…. sometimes it feels like he is the MC. But who knew the same Yuno will use Asta’s Anti magic.
Now everyone is talking about the Yuno anti magic manga panel. Did Yuno just gain the same power as Asta? Can Yuno Use Anti Magic now? A lot of questions, let’s discuss all of them.
Can Yuno use anti magic in Black Clover?
Yes, Yuno does use Anti magic in the final arc of the manga. This happens in the Jump GIGA chapters starting from Chapter 380, during the battle against Lucius Zogratis. In that scene, Yuno is shown holding the Demon-Dweller Sword, one of Asta’s anti magic swords.
The right side of his body is coated in Anti magic, which clearly shows that he is using anti magic. The next chapters, especially Chapter 381, continue the fight. Yuno was shown actively using Anti magic in combat.
But there is an important detail. Yuno is not an Anti magic user by nature. He is still a mana-based mage. The Anti magic he uses comes from Asta and Liebe through the Demon-Dweller Sword.

What led to Yuno using anti magic in that moment
The story sets up this moment several chapters before it actually happens. The key setup appears in Chapter 367, titled “Black Bonds.” In that chapter, Asta uses the Demon-Dweller Sword in the Witches’ Forest to share his Anti magic with the Black Bulls. So we got introduced to the concept that Anti magic can be passed to others through the sword.
After that setup, the story moves to the final battle. In the Jump GIGA chapters 379 and 380, the fight against Lucius reaches a critical stage. During that battle, Asta and Liebe are defeated, and the situation becomes desperate.
The sword, still filled with Asta’s Anti magic, comes into Yuno’s hand. He then immediately joins the fight. The chapter shows Yuno holding the sword in his right hand, with Anti magic covering half his body. That is the exact moment when the setup from Chapter 367 pays off.
The Demon-Dweller Sword is not an easy weapon for normal mages. Earlier in the series, even the Wizad king Julius Novachrono struggled just to hold it because it drains magic. That is why Asta, who has no magic, was the only one who could use anti magic without any side effects.

Does this mean Yuno now has the same power as Asta

No, Yuno does not gain the same power system as Asta. The manga keeps a clear difference between them.
Asta’s Anti magic comes from Liebe and the five-leaf grimoire. That power is his core ability. It is the foundation of his entire fighting style.
Yuno, on the other hand, is still a mana-based mage. His main powers come from his four-leaf clover grimoire and his Star Magic, which is tied to his Spade Kingdom heritage.
Chapter 380 was just a special case when Yuno used Anti magic. He is using Anti magic as a tool, not as his own natural energy source.
If Asta is the engine of Anti magic. Yuno is the one using the weapon powered by that engine during that specific battle. So, no, Yuno does not become an Anti magic in Black Clover.
Did anti magic damage Yuno or affect his mana
The manga does not show any permanent damage to Yuno’s mana after he uses Anti magic. However, it clearly shows that using the Demon-Dweller Sword comes with real strain and limits.
Anti magic is a force that cancels out normal magic. That drawback appears earlier in the story many times. For example, in Chapter 95, the sword drains Ladros’ mana after he is stabbed.
In Chapter 381, Yuno tries to strike Lucius with the Demon-Dweller Sword, but he misses because he is not used to the sword’s weight.
- The sword is heavy and hard to control.
- It drains magic from the user or target.
- The Anti magic can run out during battle.
But there is no clear statement that Yuno’s mana suffers permanent damage after using it.

Does Yuno get a five-leaf grimoire?

No, Yuno does not receive a five-leaf grimoire in the canon story.
At the start of the series, in Chapter 1, Yuno receives a four-leaf clover grimoire during the acceptance ceremony. Later, during the Spade Kingdom arc around Chapters 308–309, he gains a second grimoire connected to his royal lineage. This makes him one of the only known characters with two grimoires.
The manga also explains how a five-leaf grimoire is created. A four-leaf grimoire turns into a five-leaf when its owner falls into deep despair. This process is shown clearly in Chapter 198, when Patolli’s grimoire transforms into a five-leaf.
That event never happens to Yuno. His four-leaf grimoire does not become corrupted.
What does this change in the Asta vs Yuno rivalry
In Chapter 380, the meaning of that rivalry shifts. Lucius mocks the idea that Asta will return. Yuno answers with confidence that Asta will come back as long as he is still standing. The chapter ends with Yuno holding Asta’s sword and fighting in his place.
In Chapter 381, Lucius even starts treating Yuno as a greater threat than before. Asta gives Yuno the Demon-Dweller Sword and tells him he will catch up. It feels less like a defeat and more like trust between rivals.
So the rivalry does not disappear. The competition still exists, but with a sense of mutual support.
Final thoughts
We fans always saw Yuno as the calm genius with natural talent, royal blood, and perfect control over mana. He already had a four-leaf grimoire, star magic, and the respect of captains. But seeing him fight with Asta’s Anti magic was something none of us expected.
What do you think about Yuno using Anti magic? Did that moment surprise you, or did it make the rivalry even better? Share your thoughts in the comments.
