Hell's Paradise Season 2 Release Date, Story, and Streaming Updates

We fans remember how Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku pulled us in with its mix of brutal battles, dark mysteries, and heartbreaking bonds. Every week in 2023, we waited for new episodes just to see how Gabimaru, Sagiri, and the rest would survive Shinsenkyo. The action, the Tao system, and MAPPA’s intense animation made it one of the most gripping anime of the year.

Season 1 ended more than two years ago with 13 episodes, wrapping up on July 1, 2023. That finale shocked us fans when Gabimaru lost his memories. While the Shogunate prepared another expedition. Since then, fans like us kept asking: when is Hell’s Paradise Season 2 Release Date? Finally, we now have solid updates.

Hell’s Paradise Season 2 Release Date: Latest Updates

As of now, there is no fixed day and date for the premiere, but the anime has been officially scheduled for January 2026 in Japan’s Winter cour. Hell’s Paradise Season 2 was first announced on July 1, 2023, right after Episode 13 aired, with a short teaser confirming production. Later, during Jump Festa ’25 (December 21–22, 2024, at Makuhari Messe), MAPPA revealed a new teaser video and locked the release window to January 2026.

On the same stage, Crunchyroll confirmed that it will stream the sequel when it begins airing. So far, there is no information on the weekly slot or the calendar date. All official updates since Jump Festa still give us only “January 2026” as the target.

News reports from Crunchyroll, Anime Corner, Oricon, and Wikipedia’s episode history confirm these timelines. That means fans should expect the show to start sometime early in the Winter season. And possibly an Eng dub with a few weeks’ delay of the original release.

Hell's Paradise Season 2

How Season 1 of Hell’s Paradise Ended

The first season closed with Episode 13, “Dreams and Reality” (Yume to Utsutsu), on July 1, 2023. The finale brought an intense battle against the Tensen Mu Dan. Shion, Sagiri, Yuzuriha, and Nurugai combined their Tao and blade techniques to exploit Mu Dan’s plant-like biology. Following Senta’s final insight to strike the ovule, Shion delivered the finishing blow.

Sadly, Senta died from his wounds right after, leaving a deep mark on the group. Meanwhile, Gabimaru, weakened from earlier fights, awoke with severe amnesia and could not even recall the face or name of his wife, Yui. Mei sensed that a part of his Tao was missing, hinting at the toll of overusing it.

In the post-credits scene, the Shogunate authorized a second expedition to Shinsenkyo under Yamada’s authority, teasing the next stage of the story. These moments—Mu Dan’s defeat, Senta’s death, Gabimaru’s amnesia, and the Shogunate’s new plan set the stage perfectly for Hell’s Paradise Season 2.

What Story Will Hell’s Paradise Season 2 Cover?

What Story Will Hell's Paradise Season 2 Cover

Season 1 adapted the Island Arc (Ch. 1–16) and the Lord Tensen Arc (Ch. 17–59). Hell’s Paradise Season 2 will now move into the Hōrai Arc (Ch. 60–110; Vols. 7–12). This arc follows the survivors as they head deeper into Shinsenkyo. They will reach Hōrai, the stronghold of the Tensen.

The story focuses on an all-out incursion against the remaining Tensen under Rien, pushing the Tao system to its limits. The Hōrai stretch introduces large-scale battles against the Tensen, like Ran, Ju Fa, Tao Fa, Gui Fa, and Zhu Jin. Season 2 will also uncover Rien’s plan for the mainland. The Elixir, revealed to be tied to Tan, a substance made from human lives, will become the center of the conflict.

This arc is known for its long, intense confrontations and major revelations about Tao, the Tensen, and the Elixir itself. Based on the manga’s chapter count, Hell’s Paradise Season 2 should cover this arc fully and stop right before the Departure Arc (Ch. 111–127).

Animation Studio and Staff for Season 2

Hell’s Paradise Season 2 is being produced again at MAPPA with planning by Twin Engine, continuing the same high-quality production team from Season 1. Director Kaori Makita returns, along with series composition writer Akira Kindaichi, character designer Akitsugu Hisagi, and composer Yoshiaki Dewa.

New confirmations for this season also include Junichi Higashi as art director, Ayako Suenaga as color designer, and Chika Toda as director of photography.

This means the anime will keep the same creative vision as Season 1. While also bringing in fresh technical heads for art, color, and cinematography. Fans can expect consistent animation quality and atmospheric visuals, which were already a highlight in the first season. That is, if the budget given by the production studio remains the same or higher.

Where to Watch Hell’s Paradise Season 2 Online

As of now, the only confirmed streaming platform is Crunchyroll, which announced during Jump Festa 2025 that it will simulcast Hell’s Paradise Season 2 when it airs in January 2026. Crunchyroll covers North America, Europe, Australia, Latin America, and parts of Asia, so most international fans will be able to watch new episodes weekly.

For Season 1, Crunchyroll streamed episodes from day one, and it is still available on their platform. In some regions, Season 1 is also available on Netflix and in the U.S.A. on Hulu, but neither service has confirmed Hell’s Paradise Season 2 yet. Until official updates arrive, fans should plan on Crunchyroll for the simulcast and treat other platforms as back-catalog options.

Wrapping it Up

Hell’s Paradise became a fan favorite because it delivered what dark shounen lovers wanted. It is filled with bloody fights, moral dilemmas, and characters that we fans relate to. Hell’s Paradise Season 2 promises even bigger stakes, new Tensen battles, and revelations that will shake the story to its core. We fans are counting the days until January 2026.
