We fans, walked into the Bomb Girl arc thinking Reze was just another girl Denji met by chance. Then the chemistry began between them. The café dates, the swimming pool scene, and the flower in the phone booth. We enjoyed it a lot.
Then we saw that brutal betrayal. By the time the alley scene arrives, no one could believe what happened. Reze died? Why, how whatt!!!!….Is Reze Dead in Chainsaw Man?
Is Reze Dead in Chainsaw Man?

Yes. Reze is killed at the end of the Bomb Girl arc in the final scene of the Reze storyline in Part 1.
The manga does not frame it as a mystery or open ending. The moment is written and drawn as a clean execution. After the arc builds her relationship with Denji and reveals her mission as a Soviet assassin. The final portion of the Bomb Girl storyline closes her arc decisively. Her body is left lifeless in the alley outside Crossroads café. Makima stands there. Angel Devil stands there. The scene does not hint any survival in that moment.
If you finished the arc and kept asking yourself, “Is Reze Dead or is this a fake-out?” Sorry to break you the news to you, but Reze is dead, no ifs and buts. The manga treats it as the end of her run as an independent character in Part 1 at that point in the timeline..
Will Reze Come Back to Life Again in the Manga?

Yes, Reze appears again later in the manga, but not in the way you might expect.
After the Bomb Girl arc ends, her next confirmed appearances happen later during the Control Devil arc. She returns as part of the Weapon Humans group. It happens during the large-scale final battles near the end of Chainsaw Man Part 1 (“Public Safety Saga”), a 97-chapter manga arc.
In those chapters, Reze is not acting freely. She is part of the Weapon Humans group gathered and controlled by Makima. The narrative places her alongside other hybrids during the large-scale conflict against Denji. The manga presents her return as part of Makima’s larger manipulation of weapon hybrids.
So yes, she does reappear on-page after her death scene. But she is no longer the Bomb Girl choosing her path. She is one of the controlled weapons in Makima’s final plan.

What Happens in the Final Alley Scene? (Makima vs Reze)
The final alley scene takes place in the closing part of the Bomb Girl arc. This is right outside the Crossroads café, where Denji promised to wait at noon.
Reze is on her way there after changing her decision at the train station. Before she can enter the café, she is intercepted in a narrow alley. Makima appears with the Angel Devil. This is not drawn as a long duel but as a controlled execution.
Reze does not get time to transform or pull her explosive trigger. The attack lands suddenly. Angel Devil uses spears, and the manga associates this moment with his weapon attack, striking her before she can react. She collapses in the alley, bleeding out. The panels show Reze motionless on the ground.
There is no dramatic shouting. There is no rescue. There is no reversal. The chapter closes on a cold-blooded death.
Why Did Reze Turn Back to the Café for Denji?

The final part of the Bomb Girl arc shows Reze at a train station with the clear intention to escape. She had a ticket. She was undercover and ready to leave.
But during the waterfront clash, Denji tells her that if she changes her mind, he will be waiting at Crossroads café at noon. He goes there with his bag packed, treating his commitment seriously. And then the tragic alley scene happened.
There is also a callback. Earlier in the arc, Denji donates money, receives a flower, and later gives that flower to Reze inside a phone booth. That awkward moment becomes the start of their real connection. In Chapter 52, Reze donates at a similar stand and receives a matching flower.
The manga shows her holding that flower at the station. She pauses, does not board the train, turns around and walks back toward Crossroads café to meet Denji at noon.
She never makes it inside.

Who Actually Lands the Killing Blow on Reze?
The killing blow is delivered by the Angel Devil in the final alley scene of the Bomb Girl arc.
Makima orchestrates the interception. She controls the situation. But the physical strike that killed Reze came from Angel’s spear attack.
Final thoughts
We fans were not ready for that ending. Reze started as a suspicious stranger. Then she became one of the most loved characters in the Bomb Girl arc. Her swim with Denji, the phone booth flower, the noon promise at Crossroads. All of it built up to that one decision at the train station.
And then the Bomb Girl arc shut the door in one quiet alley. To fans….Stop asking is Raze dead? It will only hurt you more.
