“The Eminence in Shadow” is a popular anime about a guy named Cid Kagenou who tries to be a shadowbroker, a master of secrets. He’s a normal person in the day. At night, he’s the leader of the powerful Shadow Garden, protecting the world from hidden dangers.
Cid’s life is full of disguise, tricks, and mystery. The first season was a hit, and now fans are thrilled because they’ve confirmed Season 2.
In this blog, we’ll tell you all we know about “The Eminence in Shadow” Season 3. We’ll talk about what happened in Season 1 and 2, the official news for Season 3, when it’s coming in the USA and worldwide with the countdown, the people acting in it, and more. So without further due let’s start.
The Eminence in Shadow Season 3 Release Date
The Eminence in Shadow Season 1 originally aired from October 5, 2022, to February 15, 2023. The last installment of the series “The Eminence in Shadow Season 2” ended its airing on December 20, 2023. After its ending, Crunchyroll later announced a movie called “The Eminence in Shadow: Lost Echoes,” which is set to be released for the next installment of the Eminence in Shadow franchise.
As per Season 3, its release hasn’t been officially confirmed yet. But with the show’s huge popularity and the shoemakers’ active involvement in the content making, confirmation of season 3 will not take much time.
Looking at past timelines, there was a one-year gap between Seasons 1 and 2. If we follow this pattern, fans might have to wait around two years for Season 3, especially with a movie in between. So we can speculate that it will be released around the 4th quarter of 2026.
The Eminence in Shadow: Lost Echoes Release Date

In May 2024, we finally got a teaser for The Eminence in Shadow: Lost Echoes. It shows Cid standing in a destroyed city, with a broken piece of Mordred’s helmet floating behind him. The movie is officially titled Zankyō-hen in Japanese. The same team is working on it—Kazuya Nakanishi is directing again, and Kanichi Kato is writing the script.
From what we saw, the movie will likely adapt the Earth arc from Volume 4. This is where Cid ends up back in modern Japan, while the rest of Shadow Garden is still stuck in the other world. There is no cast list or official release date yet. But since Crunchyroll shared the teaser, it is clear that the movie is already in production.
If we follow the past timeline, the movie might come out around late 2025 or early 2026. Nothing is confirmed yet
How Much Material Is Left for Lost Echoes and Season 3?

Till now, the anime has already covered Volumes 1 to 3 in Season 1 and most of Volume 4 in Season 2. But the Earth arc—where Cid returns to modern Japan—was not fully adapted. That is what Lost Echoes will most likely cover. So you can say, the movie will finish off the remaining part of Volume 4.
After that, the story moves into Volume 5 and beyond. As of now, the light novel has 6 main volumes released officially. Some reports say the author plans to go up to Volume 15 or even more. So there is a long way to go.
If The Eminence in Shadow Season 3 happens after the movie, it will probably start from Volume 5. Depending on the pace, Season 3 can cover Volume 5 and maybe Volume 6 too. But nothing is confirmed. Still, looking at how the anime adapts about one volume per season, we can guess that the next few arcs are already set up.
So yes, there is plenty of material left for The Eminence in Shadow Season 3 and even beyond that—enough to keep Shadow Garden in action for years.
