The group searches for a way to reverse the damage. Their lead is a legendary figure named Shaula, known as a Sage with perfect knowledge and sight.
This search takes Subaru and his allies to the Pleiades Watchtower, located deep inside the Augria Sand Dunes. The desert is filled with dangerous terrain and powerful magical beasts. Even Reinhard once tried to enter the area but was forced to retreat.
Arc 6 focuses on this journey across the deadly dunes and the mysteries inside the tower. The five light novels from Volume 21 to 25 form the complete storyline that Season 4 is expected to adapt.

How did Re: Zero Season 3 end before Season 4 begins?

Season 3 covered the Water Gate City Priestella battle from Arc 5, adapting light novel Volumes 16 to 20. The season ran for 16 episodes and ended with Episode 66 on March 26, 2025.
The final Gluttony battle in Episodes 65 and 66
The final conflict focused on the Sin Archbishops of Gluttony, Lye Batenkaitos and Roy Alphard. Episode 65 showed Otto and the city knights failing to corner Lye. At the same time, Julius and Ricardo fought Roy, who acted as if he already knew their lives. He even called Julius “Brother” and revealed Ricardo’s hidden name.
Beatrice’s last spells and Echidna’s staff
In Episode 66, Beatrice saved Otto while struggling with limited mana. She only had five spells left while Lye kept devouring the names of Anastasia’s soldiers. Each victim was erased from everyone’s memory.
The turning point came when Felt returned with a secret weapon, revealed as Echidna’s staff. When Lye tried to eat Felt’s name, his body reacted violently because “Felt” was not her birth name. That opening allowed Beatrice to strike him with the staff’s power.
Louis Arneb’s arrival and the Witch Cult retreat
Just when victory looked close, Louis Arneb, the third Gluttony sibling, appeared and helped the others escape. The battle ended with the Witch Cult retreating from Priestella.
After the fight, the survivors made emergency decisions. The victims of Lust were placed in cryosleep until a cure could be found. Sirius was captured for interrogation. Subaru tried to question her, but she only warned him about Gluttony.
Julius loses his name in the final scene
The season ended with an emotional shock. Subaru reunited with Julius, but Emilia did not recognise him at all. Roy had eaten Julius’s name, leaving him alive but erased from everyone’s memory.

Yes, the main staff and cast are returning for Season 4.
The animation will once again be handled by WHITE FOX. Masahiro Shinohara returns as the director. Tappei Nagatsuki is credited for scenario supervision. Masahiro Yokotani returns for series composition. Haruka Sagawa continues as character designer and chief animation director.
